AMD graphics card
Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) acquired the Canadian ATI Technologies in 2006, since then all products have been re-branded as AMD models. AMD, along with NVIDIA, are one of the two industry leaders in graphics processing units producing both stand alone graphics cards that are installable into personal computers and more recently workstation class GPUs and rendering farms.
AMD also produces a range of high performance processors, motherboards and other computing components are are considered to be the largest competitor to the CPU giant Intel.
AMD in the GPU world is busy expanding into new markets such as high performance mobile and embedded computing platforms such as the AMD Mobile Platform and their Geode embedded processor as well as releasing contenders for the fastest personal graphics cards on the market.
